WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (July 07, 2014) — Farm Bureau Property and Casualty Insurance Company (FBPCIC) is celebrating its 75th anniversary by partnering with Metro Arts Alliance to host Jazz in July on July 10, 2014. The concert is free and open to the public on Farm Bureau’s campus, 5400 University Avenue – West Des Moines. The featured band, Dave Rezek’s Alpha State Agents, will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.
In honor of FBPCIC’s 75th anniversary, those attending may register to win one of 75 gas cards valued at $75 per card.
“We think saying ‘thank you’ to our client/members, our neighbors and friends is the very best way to celebrate this important milestone,” says James Brannen, CEO, FBL Financial. “So, we’ll be saying thanks and giving back at events across Central Iowa this summer, beginning with the Jazz in July concert, serving RAGBRAI riders, motorcycle riders at Bike Down to I-Town, and offering some special surprises in Farm Bureau Park during the Iowa State Fair.”
When Des Moines local Dave Rezek and his band take the stage for Jazz in July at Farm Bureau, guests will enjoy various jazz styles from modern to traditional, introspective and moving. The Agents are known for their ability to improvise and includes an ensemble of Iowa’s top jazz performers and educators with professional experience on a national level. Band members include Dave Rezek, Trumpet/flugelhorn; Jim Romain, alto sax; Chris Merz, tenor sax; Chris Walck, trombone; Mike Conrad, piano; Scott Barnum, bass and John Kizilarmut, drums.
A variety of vendors selling food will be available including The Spot mobile catering, Picket Fence Creamery, Eat Moore Kettle Corn and more. Free bottles of water, temporary tattoos and glow necklaces will also be available while supplies last.
