Community Involvement - Where Our Heart Is

Heart disease and stroke are two of the leading killers in America, respectively. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. We have the power to reverse these trends through research and education, which is why Farm Bureau Financial Services is proud to support the American Heart Association Heart Ball this February. The Heart Ball celebrates the strides we have made in groundbreaking research, and helps people lower their risk factors for heart disease through education.

This annual event is just one way that Farm Bureau supports the communities where we live and work. We take pride in doing the right thing in our communities – for our client/members, employees, agents, and especially the communities we serve.

Serving our Communities

Our employees are proud to work for an insurance company that values the importance of volunteering in the community. In fact, Farm Bureau supports organizations like the United Way and Children & Families of Iowa every year by providing financial support, and by encouraging employees to share their time and talents with these organizations.

The Opportunity to Give Back

Employees have the opportunity to really get involved in large- and small-scale projects, both at the home office and in the community. If an employee is passionate about a local organization, Farm Bureau wants to help the employee give back. To help with this mission, we provide Volunteer Time Off (VTO), which allows employees to spend time volunteering in organizations that matter most to them without requiring them to use their personal time off.

We also provide ways that people can volunteer without ever leaving the office. Employees can work in the Giving Garden, a garden on the home office that produced over 2,100 pounds of fresh produce for the Food Bank of Iowa. Other employees have volunteered to create patriotic quilts for veterans through the Quilts of Valor organization.

Volunteering is definitely in our DNA. At Farm Bureau, we are proud to contribute to the communities where we live and work, and this commitment extends beyond the policies we write. If you are looking to work for a company that supports your desire to volunteer and engage in making your community a better place, Farm Bureau is looking for you – consider a career here. We’re definitely looking for people like you!
